Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how AutoSwiper ("AutoSwiper", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you use the AutoSwiper mobile application, our website at useautoswiper.com, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). We are committed to handling your data transparently and in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws.
Contents
1. Who we are
AutoSwiper is a mobile application that aggregates public automotive listings from third-party platforms and individual sellers and presents them in a swipe-based discovery interface. For the purposes of applicable data protection law, AutoSwiper is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@useautoswiper.com.
2. Data we collect
Information you provide
- Waitlist sign-ups. If you join our launch waitlist on the website, we collect your email address and your preferred platform (iOS, Android, or both) so we can notify you when the app becomes available.
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and basic profile information. If you sign in with Apple or Google (single sign-on), we receive your email and name from that provider; if you use "Sign in with Apple" and choose to hide your email, we receive a private relay address instead.
- Listings you create. If you list a car for sale, we collect the content you submit — photos, vehicle specifications, description, price, and any contact details (such as a phone number or email) you choose to include.
Information generated through use
- Swipe & interaction data. Your likes, dislikes, and saved ("liked") vehicles. This is required to provide the core discovery experience, your liked list, and price-drop alerts.
- Price-check queries. When we estimate whether a listing is fairly priced, we process the vehicle's make, model, year, mileage, and price. We do not associate this with sensitive data about you.
- Push notification token. If you grant notification permission, we store your device's push token so we can deliver price-drop and listing-status alerts.
- Location data. If you grant permission, we process your approximate or precise device location to show how far each car is from you and to filter listings by distance. You can revoke this at any time in your device settings.
- Device & usage information. Technical metadata such as device type, operating system version, app version, language, coarse/anonymised IP address, crash logs, and performance analytics.
3. How we use your data
- To notify you when AutoSwiper launches, if you joined our waitlist.
- To provide, personalise, and optimise your swiping and car-matching experience.
- To maintain your account, liked list, and any listings you create.
- To send push notifications when a vehicle in your liked list drops in price or is sold/delisted.
- To estimate fair market pricing and display the in-app price meter.
- To monitor performance, fix bugs, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the App secure.
- To manage optional subscriptions and (in the free version) to show advertising.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the App and the features you request (e.g. saving liked cars, alerts).
- Consent — for location access, push notifications, and personalised advertising, where required. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests — to secure and improve the App, prevent fraud, and understand how the App is used, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with the law.
5. Sharing & service providers
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers ("processors") that help us operate the App, and only as needed:
- Supabase — hosts our database and authentication. Your account, swipe, and listing data are stored securely here.
- Expo / push notification services — deliver push notifications to your device.
- Google AdMob — serves advertising in the free version of the App (see Advertising below).
- RevenueCat — manages subscription entitlements and purchase validation.
- Apple & Google — provide sign-in, app distribution, and in-app purchase/billing.
When you tap through to view an original listing or open a dealer's location in maps, you interact directly with that third party, which operates under its own privacy policy. We are not responsible for those services.
We may also disclose data if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case we will notify you).
6. Advertising
The free version of the App displays advertisements through Google AdMob. Depending on your consent and device settings, advertising partners may access a mobile advertising identifier and limited device information to deliver and measure ads. On iOS, personalised ads require your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; you can change this in your device settings at any time. You can reset or limit ad tracking through your device's privacy settings, and an active Pro subscription removes ads.
7. Subscriptions
If you purchase AutoSwiper Pro, the transaction is processed by Apple or Google through their in-app purchase systems — we never receive or store your full payment card details. We receive a subscription status and an anonymised purchase identifier (via RevenueCat) so we can unlock Pro features for your account.
8. Data retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. Swipe and liked-car data are retained to power your experience and alerts. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten");
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- request a copy of your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time; and
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@useautoswiper.com.
10. Account deletion
You can delete your account and associated activity history at any time from within the App's settings. You may also email us at hello@useautoswiper.com and we will process your deletion request.
11. International data transfers
Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your information.
12. Children
The App is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use AutoSwiper. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
13. Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you via an in-app notice or email. Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
15. Contact us
If you have any questions, requests, or complaints about this Privacy Policy or your data, contact us at hello@useautoswiper.com.
